Cooking up creative solutions
The Scientist: More collaborators and more data are the key ingredients
EMSL lead biologist Steven Wiley, in his column in The Scientist, proposes several ways researchers can overcome their creativity blocks and develop new experimental approaches. His suggestions include working with inspired graduate students, studying other areas of science and even watching cooking shows. Ultimately, he believes a taking a team approach, collaborating with other researchers, is the best way to restart scientific creativity.
