Sophie Lehmann
Earth Scientist

Sophie Lehmann is an Earth scientist with a background in geology, environment, and isotope geochemistry. She studies environmental, climatic, and nuclear signatures preserved in natural and anthropogenic records and lab environmental studies. Her research interests include the interaction of waters, plants, animals, and Earth’s surface materials and what these relationships can tell us about their surroundings (i.e., environment, climate, changes in landscape and land use, migration patterns). She explores topics in nuclear forensics, biofuel production, and environmental science using stable and radiogenic isotope signatures and mass spectrometry (e.g., IRMS). Sophie received her Bachelors at The College of Wooster (Geology), Masters in Geology at Miami University of Ohio and my Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University.
