Abstract:

This EMSL user proposal is to support the MOSAIC DOE BER funded FSFA at PNNL. The primary activities involving EMSL are a set of BSSD demonstration tasks focusing on key science questions and related capabilities which are expected to be relevant to future BER research interests. These tasks, summarized in the EMSL proposal, share a common focus on understanding interactions between microbes and their extracellular environments, and how these associations contribute to functional stability and robustness. Advances in metabolomics and related techniques will be coupled with models to codify new understanding. Planned outcomes include new capabilities and related publications.
