Abstract
Due to its many distinctive characteristics, such as unique UV absorbing ability, high stability at high temperature, high hardness and reactivity, cerium dioxide (CeO2) has been employed in various applications such as glass polishing material, catalytic support or promoter for automotive exhaust-gas conversion reaction, UV absorbent, etc. Currently, we are interested in using CeO2 particulates as a surrogate material for plutonium oxide particulates in portable power generation applications.
