NBACC: Host/pathogen interactions (PNNL Scope # 49488, Lipton's NBACC Host project)

EMSL Project ID
17801

Abstract

Determine the host pathogen interactions from Yersinia pestis infected into rat animal models. In collaboration with Walter Reed Army research center, rats will be infected with Yersina pestis and tissues will be harvested. Analysis of the tissue by proteomic technologies will enable the understanding of the fate of the pathogen inside a host cell. ASSUMPTIONS: Client expects us to conduct fundamental research to further our knowledge in areas of importance to their mission, and to disseminate this knowledge through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations of research at scientific meetings.
