Evaluation of Cold Cap Reaction Layer in a High-Level Waste Melter for DOE Tank Wastes

Reacted chemical batch from a formulated tank waste (non-radioactive)combined with glass formers will be examined for crystalline changes and glass formulation at varied temperatures that will be expected in a high-level waste melter. The objective of the work is to determine the chemical changes that occur at a specific time and temperature, both quantitative and qualitative, and link all of the reaction process together from initial melt to complete reaction.
