Location of Probes in Membrane and Model Membrane Systems and Their Effects on Lipid Reorangization

EMSL Project ID
25616a

Abstract

This proposal investigate how probes and metal complexes interact with lipid interfaces by studying location and their interaction with lipid interfaces as a launching point for studies relating to drug and metal transport into cells. As such the program describes studies that is related to the theme Biological Interactions and Dynamics as well as perhaps the Science of Interfacial Phenomena at EMSL. We have just completed our first studies at EMSL and found that the instrumentation there complement ours at Colorado State University. We seek additional access to the facility to extend our ability to carry our experiments on samples with a larger dynamic range and at lower concentration
