Evaluation of Newly Developed Multiuse Affinity Probes for Subdiffraction Imaging

EMSL Project ID
27290

Abstract

We plan to apply our newly developed cyanine derivatives to take advantage of recent developments by Zhuang and coworkers involving photoswitchable dyes for subdiffraction limited fluorescence imaging of cells. We will first repeat the published work of Cy3 and Cy5 bound to DNA. Then we will synthesis the new AsCy3Cy5 probe and test its photo-switching properties and apply to E. coli and Shewanella cells.
