Development of data analysis and visualization software - SpectraMiner

EMSL Project ID
3644

Abstract

Single Mass Spectrometers (SPMS) are capable of producing huge amounts of data in a short time, making data mining a daunting task. Analysis of SPMS data is particularly difficult because of their high dimensionality, i.e., each data point, representing a single particle, is comprised of a long vector of attributes - the mass spectral peak intensities, particle size and time of detection. Recently we developed SpectraMiner software based on a new data-mining algorithm that uses an interacative hierarchical dendogram.
