NAABB Algal Biology Proteomics

EMSL Project ID
40890

Abstract

The National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts is a DOE sponsored algal fuels consortium lead by the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. The goal of the consortium is to facilitate the use of algae to produce sufficient fuel to replace the nation's dependence on imported petroleum. Due to the lack of knowledge on the basic physiology of algae, the consortium is utilizing systems based approaches to study lipid biosynthesis. PNNL is tasked with providing the proteomic tools to enable other principle investigators' studies of algal biology.
