Use of In-situ SS NMR to investigate hydrogen dissolved in rubber materials

EMSL Project ID
50660

Abstract

The main aim of this proposal is to identify hydrogen species (free, dissolved, or reacted) in two types of rubber materials, acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). The specific goals of this proposal are (1) in-situ identification of hydrogen species under 200 psi hydrogen pressure and (2) measurement of dissolved or reacted hydrogen in rubber materials of treated rubber materials under 100 MPa H2.
