Investigation of 4Fe-4S cluster complexes with peptides as the terminl ligand

EMSL Project ID
6903

Abstract

Fe-S proteins exist in all kinds of organisms and play critical roles as electron transfer agents, catalysts, or O2/Fe sensors. Small molecule analogue complexes have been studied extensively. To get better protein models, we will prepare complexes using peptide as the ligand to simulate the protein environment. We will use the FTICR in 1142/EMSL to do mass spectrometry and surface induced dissociation on the new products.
