The next proposal call opens Jan. 2, 2025.
The call for Large-Scale Research invites proposals for research projects up to 24 months. Focus topics vary slightly year-by-year, but the emphasis is on leading-edge research that advances scientific understanding in each of the three science areas at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL). Projects must align with the Department of Energy, Office of Science, Biological and Environmental Research program.
Through this call, researchers from around the world can apply to use EMSL resources and collaborate with EMSL scientists at no cost. Access to EMSL capabilities is competitive, and approximately 30% of proposal submissions will be accepted.
The Large-Scale Research call typically opens in January each year. Decision notices are sent by early August, and projects start on October 1 of that year.
