Moving data off-site

Globus

Globus is widely used in the scientific research community for sharing and transferring large quantities of data. It is designed to provide secure, reliable, high performance data transfer between computing sites. Globus will transparently perform multiple simultaneous transfers in a single session and will easily outperform scp/sftp. You will need a registered Globus ID, and access to both the EMSL Globus endpoint and a Globus endpoint at the destination site.

EMSL maintains a Globus endpoint at emsl#msc (PNNL::EMSL::MSC Data Transfer Node) and can be used to move data from /tahoma to any other Globus endpoint. Activating this endpoint requires a SecurID card; use your PNNL network account and SecurID pin+passcode.
