Initiate a new LOI by logging into the EMSL User Portal (NEXUS) and clicking "Submit a Proposal/LOI" in the left-hand navigation bar. The form will guide you to enter details about the proposal, participants, funding, resources, and samples. Review the entire form well in advance of the submission deadline to make sure you have enough time to compile the required information. 

You will be required to complete a standardized LOI form and upload it in PDF format to the EMSL User Portal. The form and instructions can be found on the Letter of Intent Guidance web page. 

Your LOI will be reviewed for responsiveness to the call and alignment with EMSL and DOE BER missions. Feedback may be provided regarding the feasibility of the proposed research.
