Nikola Tolic
Data Scientist
Nikola Tolic is a data scientist with the Research Software Engineering and Data Science team at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL). Since joining EMSL in 2001, he has been involved in mass spectrometry data handling, processing, and delivery. He was also involved in the transfer of a technology designed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) for data management to Washington State University in a collaborative project on protein-protein interactions.
Tolic serves as a proteomics research resource for integrative biology and is focused on serving the National Institutes of Health-supported biomedical research community by developing and integrating new proteomic technologies for collaborative and service studies, disseminating the new technologies, and training scientists in their use. He also develops calculation methods for precise measurements of proteome proteins and their post-translational modifications.
Through his involvement in various PNNL internship programs, he has mentored several high school students and interns.
