Rick Washburn

User Program Services Project Manager

Rick Washburn is a project manager for the User Program Services team where he manages a portfolio of user projects. In this capacity, Washburn works with EMSL users to develop project plans, facilitates communication between EMSL staff and principal investigators, and manages project budgets. Washburn also supports EMSL's Integrated Research Platforms by managing budgets and maintenance contracts for a variety of instruments.

Prior to EMSL, Washburn worked in Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's (PNNL) Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence program as a project manager for training, maintenance, and data management teams. Before coming to PNNL, Washburn was a career law enforcement officer with a focus on tactics and training management.
