Simulation of HVDC Converter Valve Control and Protection Algorithms

Abstract

The proposed effort would utilize a dual-processor Windows computer to run software used to simulate high-speed power system control and protection algorithms. We want to test a proprietary system model using a commercially available simulation program to assess performance improvements that can be gained using a true dual-processor machine. This effort would be for PNNL project 44766 which is a Bonneville Power Administration project for which PNNL is assisting with a major upgrade to BPA's high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system.
