Compare thermal signature of air-cooled RX2600 node with SprayCool FX2600 node

EMSL Project ID
16311

Abstract

As part of the DOE NNSA Energy Smart Data Center (ESDC) project, a full rack of HP RX2600 nodes has been retrofitted to replace the Itanium Heat Sync with Evaporative Spray Cooling caps to evaluate more efficient cooling technologies and increase density of future supercomputers. This study will photograph a standard air-cooled rack to compare its heat signature with a retrofitted SprayCool rack.
