Chemical/Physical Structure of Nano-Sized Silicon Nitride Powder

EMSL Project ID
1643

Abstract

Nano-sized silicon nitride is produced via the reaction between SiO vapor and ammonia. The product could be in three forms: nano-sized powder, crystals and whiskers. Depending on the reaction conditions, physical structures are determined. Also, chemical compositions are dependent on the conditions how the products are treated. It is essential to know the chemical and physical structure of product to optimize the reaction and product handling conditions to produce desired nano-sized silicon nitride powders. The results are publishable in any technical journals.
