Nanoengineered Electrochemical Sensor for Mixed Wastes (PNNL Scope# 45409)

EMSL Project ID
16739

Abstract

The purpose of this proposal is to develop portable electronic and optical chemical and biosensor devices integrated with novel nanoparticle materials for fast, low-cost, specific and sensitive detection of, toxic waste[Cr(VI), ClO4-], organphosphate nerve agents and protein biomarker samples. Nanomaterial such as gold nanoparticle, silicon nanoparticle, apoferritin nanoparticle will be used prepare chemical-, biosensors as well as as novel probes in this proposal. SEM, TEM , AFM , XPS will be used to characterize the prepared nanomaterials and biomolecular modified nanomaterials. Infrared Spectroscopy, Fluorescence spectrum and UV spectrum will also be used as tolls to characterize.
