Develop Analytical Methods/Baseline Data for Ion-Exchange Capsules

EMSL Project ID
1763

Abstract

Uni-Best International is creating a database for the development of a novel approach for agricultural sampling. Ion-Exchange Capsules will be utilized at preselected locations within a crop's root zone to develop the necessary data to allow for full implementation and commercialization of this product. EMSL equipment (IC and ICPMS) instrumentation is necessary to characterize the leachate from these capsules. Uni-Best is working with local agricultural interests and agricultural research groups to develop this technology. It is expected that results will be in the ppb-ppm range. Research will include analysis of 2N HCL solutions. Uni-Best International will prep the samples at their laboratories and deliver the leachate in pre-identified vials to allow for complete analysis. The intent of this project is to gain an understanding of resin selection and application patterns for select agricultural crops. Research results will be published in select agricultural and scientific journals. The samples will be returned to the client once the processing is complete.
