Growth and Characterization of Anatase Films
EMSL Project ID
1951
Abstract
We propose the epitaxial growth of anatase TiO2 films, and a thorough characterization of their surface properties. Titanium dioxide is an important oxide that is used in many technical fields. For most of application (e.g., photocatalysis and gas sensing), the anatase phase is the more active form. However, almost nothing is known about the anatase surface structure and reaction behavior at the molecular scale. With these investigations we will take a first step towards understanding the surface science of anatase.
