Nerve Agent Detection Using Enzyme-Coated Nanowires

EMSL Project ID
19592

Abstract

We propose a research program to prepare, characterize, and apply enzyme-coated nanowires to the detection of nerve agents. The substrate specificity of enzymatic reactions renders a great potential in detection, decontamination, and protection against CB agents. This has been proven to work in the laboratory scale; however, the short lifetime of these systems often hampers their practical efficacy in the field applications, especially under harsh environments.
