EMSL Project ID
2028

Abstract

Histatin-5 is a human salivary polypeptide found in the acquired enamel pellicle. The protein is histidine-rich and basic, and possesses at least two important functions: control of hydroxyaapatite (HAP) crystal growth and antimicrobial activity.
