Determination of Tungsten Carbide Particle Size and distribution in thermal spray powders and the resultant coatings

EMSL Project ID
2113

Abstract

The objective of the this research study is to determine the size and distribution of the Tungsten Carbide particles in both the original powder and in the sprayed coating. The relationship between the size and distribution of the carbides and the properties of the coating has yet to be determined for nanoscale carbides.
