Polymer Characterization

EMSL Project ID
2390

Abstract

The proposed work will involve characterization of cured and/or partially cured monomer mixtures. The study will investigate the effect of using different photoinitiators to promote the polymerization reaction under UV curing conditions. We will identify and quantify residual volatile species in the cured polymer and correlate their presence with the type and concentration of photoinitiator used. The instrumentation needed to perform the analyses are TGA/MS and GC/MS.
