Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy of Half-Integer Spin Quadrupolar Nuclei at High Magnetic Field Strengths: A Continuing Study of Model Boron and Molybdenum Compounds.

EMSL Project ID
2455

Abstract

This proposal is an extension of two previous projects with which we have had success at Pacific Northwest National Laboratories. The earlier work focused on the characterization of boron and molybdenum electric field gradient (EFG) and chemical shift (CS) tensors in model compounds via 11B and 95Mo NMR spectroscopy of solid samples at external applied magnetic field strengths of 17.6 and 18.8 T. We propose to extend the 11B project to include various important classes of compounds for which experimental data are lacking, including transition metal complexes of boron and compounds relevant to the development of organic light-emitting diodes.
