Scanning Mass Spectroscopy of Aerosols

This project involves attaching a quadrapole mass spectrometer to an existing Enviromental Scanning Electron Microscope. This will allow for the identification of molecular (organic) species attached to aerosol particles at the same time as the EDAX system gives an elemental analysis of the same particle. Hopefully this will allow for the better characterization of diesel exhaust particles.
