Understanding the Structure-Catalytic Function Relationship of Cobalt Based Catalysts for Steam Reforming of Oxygenated Hydrocarbons

EMSL Project ID
29295

Abstract

The scientific objectives of this application are to fundamentally understand (1) the active sites and (2) how the various support materials and operating conditions influence the activity, selectivity and stability of these active sties in ethanol steam reforming over supported cobalt (Co) catalysts for producing hydrogen gas. We plan to synthesize various supported Co catalysts at Washington State University and carry out both ex-situ and in-situ characterizations and activity testing experiments in EMSL labs.
