XPS Analysis of Oxidized HT9 Alloy Samples
EMSL Project ID
33396
Abstract
XPS analysis is required to help explain Raman spectroscopy data obtained from samples of HT9 (a high temperature ferritic steel) oxidized at elevated temperature in air. This work will be performed on the last batch of samples that was generated as part of a PNNL LDRD project â??Accelerated Fuel Cladding Simulationsâ?? managed by Chuck Henager. Previous samples were analyzed in the same way under EMSL Proposal #26708 â??Accelerated Fuel-Cladding Interaction Study Using Surrogate Materialsâ?? between Oct.1, 2007 and Sep. 30, 2008. Analysis of the current batch of materials will take no longer than 30 days and will complete our project. One peer reviewed paper was already published and another is expected after this analysis is finished.
