Determination of the structure and properties of NaAlH4 Hydrogen Storage Materials

Abstract

The objective of this project is to relate the structure of NaAlH4 materials to the hydrogen storage capacity and reversibility. Specific objectives will be to examine the location and chemical form of Ti additives in this material as formulated and after hydrogen cycling. The ultimate objective is to understand the mechanism by which Ti enhances reversibility of the hydrogen storage and release process and to extend this to other system with a potential for greater storage capacity.
