On the Origin of the pH-Dependent Redox Potential of Titanium Dioxide

Abstract

As part of an effort to understand the involvement of protons in charge transfer to TiO2, access to EMSL equipment and expertise for materials characterization is requested. Understanding the chemical nature of the sites formed upon charge injection could have substantial impact in many applications of semiconducting oxides, such as solar energy conversion and photocatalysis.
