XPS characterization of diesel soot materials
EMSL Project ID
3650
Abstract
The soot material from diesel engine is the primary concern environmentally. The researchers are trying to reduce the soot emission by using the "Diesel particulate filter" or soot oxidation catalysts. In order to remove the soot effectively, the understanding of the surface functional groups with respect to oxidation is crucial. Therefore, the purpose of this experiment is to analyze the changes in surface concentration by using the XPS.
