Holographic Imaging Radar Measurement System

EMSL Project ID
3652

Abstract

Engineers at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have developed a state-of-the art portable stealth tester that would provide unprecedented characterization of radar signatures of military vehicles. The system collects detailed images of how a vehicle’s signature appear to enemy radar.

The vehicle stealth tester is a one-of-a-kind system developed with the Army Research Laboratory for the Army’s Aberdeen Test Center. It is designed to capture the 3-dimensional radar signature of a vehicle the size of an M1 Abrams tank in a single frame.

I will be creating an animation that describes the process of how the radar is set up and how it collects data.
