Characterization of Regenerable CO2 Sorbents

EMSL Project ID
3681

Abstract

Several modified mesoporous silica and activated carbon sorbents were developed at PNNL for CO2 removal. Initial tests show that these sorbents have high adsorption capacity for CO2. The work proposed here includes further characterization utilizing various analytical facitilies in EMSL, such as TEM/SEM, XRD, TGA/DSC-MS, and adsorption isotherm and kinectics measurements. The outcome of this work will positive impact DOE's environmental and engergy mission areas.
