Ion Beam Analysis of Transition Metal Doped Oxide Films
EMSL Project ID

Abstract
There are number of reports indicating the development of ferromagnetic order on the introduction of dopants into the ZnO and In2O3 matrix. Given the likely role played by oxygen vacancies, the stability of the ferromagnetic order under ambient conditions is also an important question to address. This proposal involves the use of various ion beam analysis techniques( RBS/Channeling and NRA) for the measurement of composition of transition metal doped solution deposited ZnO and In2O3 films, their orientation with respect to the substrate and changes in O concentration under different annealing conditions. The ion beam analysis work at the ion accelerator facility at EMSL need to be completed for a manuscript which is being submitted after comments from referees. The manuscript and the review need to be completed with next 2 months time frame. I need to complete these experiments within my sabbatical time (Fall 2012) so that I can spend 1-2 weeks at EMSL to complete the work.
