Investigating Interfacial Interactions in Multivalent Battery Technologies

EMSL Project ID
51208

Abstract

The specific aim of this project is to probe the structure-property relationships of energy storage materials based on multivalent ions (Mg2+, Ca2+ and Al3+) under dynamic electrochemical cycling conditions with a range of spatial (down to atomic) and temporal (as fast as nanoseconds) resolution. This goal will be accomplished by using concerted multi-modal in-situ spectroscopic, imaging methodologies based on NMR and TEM, along with other X-ray spectroscopic methods, and molecular simulations
