Limited Scope EMSL Proposal: Nano- and Microplastic Accumulation at Roots

EMSL Project ID
51323

Abstract

The purpose of this limited scope proposal is to conduct a series of confocal and super resolution fluorescence microscopy experiments in response to reviewers’ comments for a submitted manuscript. The manuscript describes a study that we have pursued at EMSL within a previously funded EMSL User Proposal. We have investigated the interaction and uptake of plastic nano- and microspheres with roots of Arabidopsis and wheat. The manuscript has been submitted to a technical journal, and the review comments asked for some additional investigations to clarify potential artifacts. The objective of the limited scope proposal is to conduct a few more experiments and imaging sequences with the confocal and super resolution microscope we had used to collect the previous data.
