Kinetics of Polyphosphate Decomposition in Heterogeneous Environments

EMSL Project ID
5592

Abstract

These experiments will investigate the hydrolysis kinetics of selected long-chain polyphosphate [Na3(PO4)n] compounds. The catalytic effects of impurity metal ions and contact with heterogeneous surfaces on polyphosphate decomposition will be measured. Feasibility studies for the speciation and hydrolysis of several autunite minerals will be carried out.
