New materials as sulfur absorbents

EMSL Project ID
9604

Abstract

There are several important environmental problems in the world. One of them is acid rain caused by SOx and NOx in combustion waste gases from thermal power plants, factories, and on-road vehicles, diesel generators, and the like. Relatively little technical information is available on sulfur oxide removal using solid absorbents, compared to the large volume of studies on the NOx reduction. In this work, we will develop new materials for SOx emission control.
