Solid-State 67Zn NMR of Synthetic Metalloprotein Models
EMSL Project ID
2317
Abstract
It is the intention of this proposal to describe studies that will be undertaken in order to aid our understanding of the structures and mechanisms of zinc enzymes. Such knowledge will be obtained by preparing and investigating synthetic analogues that are intended to mimic both the structure and function of a zinc enzyme. These analogues will be compared and contrasted with the native protein via spectroscopic and structural methods, in particular through a combination of X-Ray, NMR and EXAFS/XANES spectroscopy.
