Abstract
Understanding complex energy conversion and storage systems hinges upon developing a fully three-dimensional analysis of the structure and chemistry with sub-nanometer spatial and chemical resolution and ppm-level mass sensitivity. These analysis requirements exceed the current capabilities of any individual technique, necessitating the integration of multiple tools and methodologies into one integral analysis platform. Hence it is proposed to develop a common analysis platform for integrating aberration corrected TEM/STEM tomography with atom probe tomography, scanning transmission x-ray microscopy and Helium Ion Microscopy to characterize Li related energy storage materials and catalyst materials with metal or metal oxide nanoparticles supported on porous metal oxides
