The synthesis of Au nanoclusters
EMSL Project ID
5401
Abstract
The synthesis of the Au clusters with varieties of ligand attracted great attentions from chemist and materials scientist in decades. The discovery of the Au catalyst stimulated a great deal of studies on Au small clusters as well as nanoparticles. Combining the photoelectron spectroscopy technique and theoretical calculations, our group discovered that Au20 is highly stable and chemical inert, may posses novel physical and chemical properties. The synthesis of this novel nanocluster with specific ligand will be very important for further characterization of the physical and chemical properties. Our target cluster will be Au20 with PPh3 ligand and the characterization will be range from Mass spectroscopy, UV-vis, TEM ?.
