Omics analysis for fin, humpback, and gray whales to compare stress hormones and create baseline

EMSL Project ID
60639

Abstract

PNNL staff proposed a seedling idea to the US Department of Energy's Water Power Technologies Office to perform a transcriptomics study to compare stress hormones with various whale species transcriptomes. This scope was increased to include the PNNL's Omics research capabilities. PNNL will perform sample analysis for lipidomic, proteomic, and metabolomic to advance our knowledge about large cetaceans and aid in creating a baseline of cetaceans that use the foraging area off the coast of Newport, Oregon. Jennifer Kyle is our EMSL research partner for this effort.
