Syntheses of Fe-S Cluster Complexes with Peptides as Terminal Ligands

EMSL Project ID
6698

Abstract

Fe-S clusters are active centers of Fe-S proteins acting as electron transfer and storage agents. Fe-S cluster complexes with simple terminal ligand have been studied extensively. We are going to prepare Fe-S cluster complexes with peptides as the ligands to make a better simulation of the protein environment. Because of the high sensitivity of these compounds to air we need to carry out the synthesis using the glove box and Schlenk technique in EMSL-1430.
