UEC member
Jianqiu Zheng is a member of the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory's User Executive Committee and a computational and experimental scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Zheng has unique expertise in bridging experimental biogeochemistry and mechanistic model development that scale molecular level understanding of biogeochemical processes across ecosystem and global scales. She designs and validates numerical models that simulate how microbes interact with their environment and mediate the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nutrients, and water. She is particularly interested in integrating multi-omic data into reaction-based biogeochemical models to build mechanistic linkage between microbial metabolism and ecosystem dynamics.
