Abstract

Proposed work will be performed using normal rats and emphysematous counterparts. The specific aims are to - 1) quantify regional alveolar airway destruction in vivo using 19F gas MRI techniques appropriate for future clinical studies, and 2) validate MRI measurements via histological analysis of excised rat lungs
