Online, real-time instrument parameter optimization for FT-ICR mass spectrometry

EMSL Project ID
60482

Abstract

Optimal and efficient use of FT-ICR mass spectrometers is a critical step to high-throughput and automated analyses, as well as for ensuring the highest fidelity of data and scientific rigor. This project will develop methods for automated and semi-automated instrument parameter optimization and evaluation. Specifically, this project will develop methods for the 7T scimaX FT-ICR MS to optimize parameters associated with ion transmission and analyzer cell tuning, which are both instrument and sample specific, and which drift with time and use. Improvements compared to traditional methods will be evaluated against standards and real sample sets.
