Structural Determination of a Complex Membrane Protein, Diacylglycerol Kinase

EMSL Project ID
2454

Abstract

Prokaryotic diacylglycerol kinase (DAGK) is a homotrimeric integral membrane protein composed of 13 kDa subunits, with each subunit having 3 transmembrane helices (see Figure1). As a membrane protein, DAGK represents a class of proteins which is of enormous biological and biomedical importance, but which has proven largely refractory to structural determination by classical NMR and crystallographic methods.
